Megan Taylor
With over 20 years of experience teaching and training in the hunter/jumper and collegiate industry, I have developed a system that allows for riders to achieve their riding goals and horses to succeed in helping their riders. My life-long love for horses is at the core of my system.
As a junior rider I competed in the hunters and equitation in New England. Growing up in a barn that was home to the Smith College Equestrian Team, I gained valuable experience in collegiate riding. |
As a member of the Purdue University Equestrian Club I competed in the IHSA as an Open rider and won the Miller's Collegiate Cup Open Flat class at the 1993 IHSA National Horse Show. While in Indiana, I also had the opportunity to foxhunt, compete in USEF horse shows and ride a variety of horses for Foxton Farm in addition to teaching lessons and working as an assistant coach for the IHSA team.
The two years after graduation that I spent working at the Goucher College Equestrian Center provided me with valuable training in administration, event and personnel management and coaching. This experience helped me develop a collegiate riding program at the University of the South that fostered a culture of responsibility, dedication and sportsmanship. I coached over forty riders to top-ten IHSA National placings and twelve teams to Regional Championship, seven Zone Championship and Reserve Championship and six top-ten IHSA National Horse Show finishes.
As an undergraduate student I competed in the ANRC National Collegiate Championships and went on to coach numerous collegiate teams and riders for years. Serving as an Advisory Member on the ANRC Board allows me to support an organization whose mission is to promote the American System of Forward Riding.
Currently serving as the National Director for the IHSA Alumni Association (IHSAA), I am thrilled to have the opportunity to work with competing alumni and with IHSAA members on the growth and development of the association.
